A commercial EPC is valid for 10 years and tells a buyer or tenant how energy efficient your commercial property is and how much energy bills are likely to cost them should they buy or rent from you. Energy certificates include an energy efficiency rating from A to G, with A being the highest rating a building can achieve.

If your building is brand new then it is most likely to receive a higher rating. Older properties are most likely to receive a rating of D or E. Your commercial EPC will also include recommendations on how to improve your energy efficiency rating such as installing a new energy efficient boiler or installing wall insulation. The theory is that the better the rating your property gets, the more attractive it should be to a tenant as it indicates lower energy bills.
